Sadowsky Onboard Bass Preamp (4-Knob System)

SHARE

The Sadowsky Onboard Bass Preamp (4-Knob System) is a pre-wired system that offers the same control options and legendary active preamp as all Sadowsky basses. The preamp is designed to be installed in most J-style basses with a metal control plate. Newer active J-style models with a side output jack and battery compartment usually require no modifications. For passive instruments, the only modification required is to move the output jack to the side of the instrument and make room for a battery. The control options are: Volume - Pan (Balance) - VTC (Vintage Tone Control) - Treble / Bass. The bass and treble controls only boost - if you turn the controls completely to the left you get a linear frequency response. The VTC control works passively, the maximum setting is a flat EQ. The further back you turn the knob, the more the treble in the signal is attenuated. The preamp can be mounted either with the Control Plate or through an electronics compartment. This system is not compatible with active pickups that require anything other than a 250K or 500K volume or balance pot.
